Sainte-Eulalie d'Olt

Beside the Lot, at the foot of the Aubrac mountains, stands the village of Sainte-Eulalie d’Olt. It was built around an earlier château but it was around the second château built on the site in the 15th century that the village was to grow.

A walk through the narrow, winding streets and alleyways is not to be missed if you wish to discover the towered dwellings of the 16th and 17th centuries, the houses, some half-timbered others not, with walls of pebbles and roofs of stone slabs, the many artistic and architectural details that recall the former splendours of this little town…

The mill on the Serre at Sainte-Eulalie d'Olt is probably the oldest to be found on this stream. This 3.8 metre diameter water-wheel is made of three different kinds of wood and is still giving a rhythm to the life of this flower-bedecked village..
