Beside the Lot, at the foot of the Aubrac mountains, stands the village of Sainte-Eulalie d’Olt. It was built around an earlier château but it was around the second château built on the site in the 15th century that the village was to grow.

A walk through the narrow, winding streets and alleyways is not to be missed if you wish to discover the towered dwellings of the 16th and 17th centuries, the houses, some half-timbered others not, with walls of pebbles and roofs of stone slabs, the many artistic and architectural details that recall the former splendours of this little town. If you come and visit the village during the winter you will also find one of the last licensed distillers in the region. You should also make sure that you see a splendid 18th-century mill, constructed on the Serre stream just before it flows into the Lot.
And don’t hesitate to venture outside the village to explore the nearby Aubrac Mountains, whether on foot or by bike.
