The Tarn valley

3 valleys, 3 rivers, and 3 times the chance of exploring villages with unique architecture, breathtaking landscapes and monuments, and traditional yet innovative gourmet cooking ... the quintessential South-West!

La vallée du Tarn à Ambialet

If you see the Tarn at its source in Lozère, as it passes through the Tarn Gorges above Millau and leaving the limestone plateaux of the Aveyron, you wouldn’t think that it would become such a grand, tranquil river by the time it reaches its valley. It flows along through the geological wonder of the Ambialet isthmus, and by tranquil banks in Albi, and then the river breathes life into the wine-growing region of Gaillac. As you’ll see, a trip along the Tarn is the perfect way of experiencing a unique landscape.
